The Interfaith Task Force of
Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is a
professional network of representatives from diverse faith
communities. We work to foster positive relationships among
all religions in the Sioux Falls area.
Dear Faith Community Leader, We are writing to you on behalf of the Interfaith Task Force of Sioux Falls, which has organized to foster positive relationships among people of all religions in the Sioux Falls area. The U.S. is now the most religiously diverse nation in the world. Sioux Falls neighborhoods include good people of many different faiths. Most South Dakotans know very little about their neighbor’s religion, and sometimes misinformation and fear keep them apart. We have come together to learn about each other’s religions and to foster understanding and relationships between people of different faiths. Our vision is to disseminate accurate information about religions by sponsoring educational events, a speakers’ bureau and other projects. We want to model respectful engagement, so that we can understand our differences and affirm our shared values. Our ultimate goal is to foster a community of appreciation in which people of all faiths can live in peace and mutual affirmation of what the other holds dear. Will you help us? We are looking for leaders who are passionate about increasing inter-faith understanding to join our recently formed Interfaith Task Force. Might you be that person? Or is there someone else in your faith community who has the interest and skills to contribute to this vital work? The Interfaith Task Force meets at noon on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at the Multi-Cultural Center, 515 N. Main Street. Please share your recommendation of potential additions to our task force by emailing Deb McIntyre, our recorder, at peaceandjustice@svtv.com or by calling 605/743-5647. If you have questions, please feel free to call one of us. You can help us to build a stronger community in which citizens of different faiths treat each other with equal dignity and mutual loyalty. We hope you will consider serving on the Interfaith Task Force or will recommend someone else with a keen interest in this work. Kindest Regards,
The Interfaith Task Force of
